Sangamon River Outfitters is a family-owned venture rooted in a deep love for the great outdoors. It all began in the 90s when our family started acquiring timber properties solely for hunting. Over the years, our passion for the wild expanded, and we grew to cherish moments spent hunting, fishing, and immersing ourselves in nature. We've relished countless hours in the stand, observing deer, managing our hunts, and feeding our family with our harvest. With a genuine desire to share our experiences, we guided hunts in Michigan's Upper Peninsula during black bear season, forging lasting connections with fellow hunters. 

 

Our commitment to the hunting community continued as we operated a thriving deer processing facility for 37 years. In 2017, we closed the doors to the public, seeking more opportunities to savor the serenity of the woods while still serving friends and family. Fueling our passion, we ventured into taxidermy, establishing a state-of-the-art studio where we meticulously preserve deer, fish, birds, and small mammals.

Until now, our property remained a well-kept secret, with its location, encounters, and harvested deer shrouded in privacy. However, in the fall of 2023, we're offering a unique opportunity to others who share our hunting dreams. Our privately owned timberland in Macon County, Illinois stands as the largest contiguous tract in the area. It has witnessed remarkable hunts and yielded numerous trophy deer, each with a captivating story.
